Mac OS X Lion Release Date is July and ONLY $29

Written by Kevin

The keynote today only covered 10 new features in OS X Lion but it is said to include over 250 new enhancements and features.

The questions we have been all asking ourselves over the last few months are finally answered:

  • Mac OS X 10.7 Lion will be available to all consumers in July – Apple told us at their last event it would be a ‘summer 2011′ release and they have stuck to their word.
  • Lion will be be available exclusively from the Mac App Store as a download – Apple has decided not to make an copies of their OS on DVD or USB…this is sure to spark some controversy amongst power users and especially IT departments.
  • Lion will ONLY cost $29.99 – It’s safe to say you will never have to pay the previous standard price of $129.99 again. This is a major OS update not a minor update like Snow Leopard was and Snow Leopard was priced at $29.99 as well. This is definitely great news.

The keynote today only covered 10 new features in OS X Lion but it is said to include over 250 new enhancements and features. This is going to well worth it’s cheap price tag, update this July without hesitation.

More news to come!
