Control iTunes from the Menu Bar

MyTunesController is a small, lightweight, and, an elegant remote for iTunes which brings playback notifications at any user-defined corner of the screen while offering track navigation controls within the menu bar.

When it comes to choosing an application which allows you to handle iTunes playback functions, we always look for a minimalist design and controls rather than too many options and features to deal with. MyTunesController is a small, lightweight, and, an elegant remote for iTunes which brings playback notifications at any user-defined corner of the screen while offering track navigation controls within the menu bar.

When launching the app, you will notice it resides completely in the menu bar. Go ahead and launch iTunes, and select the playlist which is to be controlled by MyTunesController. Once selected, the small playback and navigation keys can guide you between the tracks and play or pause the current track.

Next to next, play and pause keys, you have disc button which allows users to fetch lyrics of the song being played in iTunes. When you switch between playlist items, a notification box will appear, showing basic track information with album cover art.

By default, all of the notifications will pop up over the dock on the left hand side. Of course, you can change its screen position and where the lyrics get pulled from within the Preferences window.

MyTunesController works on Mac 10.4 – 10.6 and is Free!
